• 400 ml coffee, prepared to your liking
  • 2 measures (50ml) Irish whiskey
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 60 ml double cream, to top

  1. 1

Make a pot of coffee and pour 400ml into a jug. Add the whiskey and sugar and stir to dissolve. Decant into two tall glasses.

  2. 2

Pour the cream onto the coffee slowly over the back of a spoon, so that it sits on top.

Cook's tip: if you fancy a bit of a change, other spirits work equally well – try rum, brandy or Tia Maria to get you started
