Ingredients

  • 500g packed beetroot – grated
  • 2 tbsp Worcester sauce
  • 50g sugar
  • 1 onion
  • 1 tsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp cyder vinegar
  • Pinch of black pepper
  • ½ tsp chilli flakes

Method

    Blitz the onion, oil, Worcester sauce and vinegar

    Then transfer to a pan and simmer for 2 minutes

  3. 3

    Add the grated beetroot and sugar and simmer for 15 mins

  4. 4

    Add seasoning to taste, then blend till completely smooth.

    Leave to cool down then transfer into bottles or jars – keep in the fridge will last up to 2 weeks.

    We served the ketchup up with some chunky sweet potato wedges.
