If you've still got room after eating a whole turkey, how about some beef trifle?

We might not all be gathering round the table to celebrate the American bonanza that is Thanksgiving, but there is one show that has cemented those happy holidays in our hearts and minds forevermore.

Anyone who's ever had access to a telly has their fave Friends Thanksgiving moment. Here are our all-time favourites.

The one where Rachel makes beef trifle

Rachel, in an attempt to impress the rest of the gang with her cooking skills, serves up some "ye olde English trifle". To be fair, on Christmas day many of us could be implementing the "acting" skills we picked up from Joey in this episode.

The one where Joey eats a whole turkey

Never to be outdone in the food stakes, the man who brought us the enduring concept of "meat sweats" battles through a whole bird. In Phoebe's maternity pants.

The one with the turkey dance

For a stunt that involves a dead bird and pair of comedy glasses, this is remarkably one of the most romantic episodes of all time. Mondler forever!

The one with the 'I hate Rachel club'

Forever known as "the one Brad Pitt was in", this episode was thrilling for a number of reasons. One of them being that Brad and Jen were an actual real life couple at the time. Just look at that beautiful face.

And if you're still left wondering "what on earth is a yam, anyway?" We have the answer: it's these THESE crazy things.

No? Us neither. But yes, candied yams are a very normal part of the American spread, often served with raisins, pineapples, pecans and a final topping of marshmallow madness! If they look divine to you, you can find out how to make them the old fashioned way from How 2 Girl.

Happy Thanksgiving!
