Make yourself the toast of Father's Day with this incredible bacon creation
Dads can have a bit of a rough deal around this time of year. A pair of socks and a cup of tea is about as effort-y as it's going to get. But what if you could make Dad a bacon sandwich of legends? A bacon sandwich made with a WHOLE PACK of streaky bacon.
Guess what? Now you can and here's how.
Lay rashers of streaky dry cure bacon on a baking tray (baking paper optional).
Starting from the top, fold three alternate rashers back on themselves.
Place a rasher of bacon vertically and fold the other three horizontal rashers to the left.
Then fold the remaining rashers to the left.
Place a new vertical strip of bacon on top.
Alternate three layers over your newly placed rasher.
Keep on weaving until you've used up all 12 rashers.
Ta-dah … a weave!
Whack your weave in the oven at 160˚C / fan 140˚C / gas 3 and cook for 10 minutes (until it's deep golden brown or to Dad's liking).
All that's needed next is …
Two slices of white bread, a generous squirt of ketchup and a cup of tea. This is guaranteed to make you the most popular Father's Day star that ever lived.
