Keep breakfast in bed a disaster-free zone with these simple ideas
Breakfast in bed: the incredibly thoughtful, sweet surprise that's super cheap and easy to pull off. Why aren't we all doing it every day? We should! It would be immense. Let's do it, starting with these gorgeous dishes for our lovely mums on Mother's Day.
Homemade granola doesn't have to be a faff – a couple of minutes preparation time, some mixing and a hot oven will leave you with a big batch of crispy, chewy goodness. This recipe's also refined-sugar free and gluten free, plus you can pop some in a jar as an extra Mother's Day present. You're acing this.
Ok, so this isn't the quickest breakfast in bed you'll ever prepare, but it makes the list for the easy lime and avocado Hollandaise sauce. It looks like something we could dip absolutely anything in (and we will).
Is your ma more breakfast smoothie than full-on fry-up? She'll love this very berry smoothie with porridge oats and honey. Maybe pop an oven glove over the NutriBullet if you don't want to wake her up, though.
A beautifully nostalgic breakfast – because if your mum can't eat an actual old-school sweet and muffin hybrid on Mother's Day, when can she? Bung them in the oven the night before and serve with prosecco – bliss.
So easy and tasty and bacon-y. And yes, you can add extra cheese if you like.
Rustling up a feast for a dairy-free mum? She should get pancakes too – these use oat milk, and are gorgerous, so be prepared to make seconds. And thirds. Maybe just cut your losses and make a big stack.
Feeling more adventurous? We respect that, and so will your Instagram followers when you pull off these lacy heart pancakes. Flippin' lovely.
