The Double Down Dog is the chain's latest food travesty and yes, the 'bun' is made from fried chicken
We thought we’d seen it all when British pub chain Hungry Horse revealed their gut-busting 2,000 calorie burger last year. Boy were we wrong.
KFC has revealed the latest food mash-up: the Double Down Dog.
That’s a hot dog drizzled with cheese sauce, honey mustard and relish dressing and all wrapped up inside a fillet of fried chicken masquerading as a bun. That's right.
Where did it come from? Well, it's the next step on from the Double Down burger, which appeared in 2010 made from cheese, bacon and two pieces of fried chicken in place of the bun.
Currently these dawgs have been on offer in selected restaurants in the Phillippines and depressingly, they've all sold out.
Dubbed by the fast food joint as a “legendary dish for a legendary appetite," the Twitterati were quick to disagree. One user said: “Whoever came up with the Double Down Dog at KFC should be put in jail.”
KFC are remaining tight-lipped over the calorie count although MTV have calculated it at 962kcal. KFC, we need to talk.
