Rabbit food and roast beef at the The Wild Rabbit, Michelin's Pub of the Year 2015

If the idea of a Sunday without a roast and all the trimmings is too much to bear, you’ve come to the right place. Michelin has revealed its list of the top gastropubs in the country and crowned the winner of its prestigious Pub of the Year award. We're pleased to report the winning hostelry serves dishes like crab and langoustine lasagne, cacao nib crusted venison and cep soup with glazed chicken and truffle.

And the winner is ... The Wild Rabbit in Kingham, Oxfordshire. It is officially the best pub of the year in the latest edition of the Michelin Eating Out in Pubs guide.

Rebecca Burr, who edits the pub guide, said: “This Cotswold pub is a chocolate box delight: stylish yet rustic, spacious yet cosy, it offers a convivial welcome, knock-out bedrooms and, of course, first-rate food.

The capable kitchen works with the best organic ingredients to produce seasonal cooking which is British at heart and full of flavour.

Customers are now demanding that chefs use more and more local produce and want to see local recipes and specialities on the menu.”

A whopping 70 UK pubs have been added to the Michelin Eating Out in Pubs guide this year, which recommends more than 590 hostelries across the country based on the food.

So where else do the inspectors recommend? There's every chance you might find us in one of these eating a gravy-soaked roast dinner …
