Talk about turning a positive into a negative …
In what might be the loveliest example of turning a bad situation on its head, a Californian woman jilted by her fiancé turned her wedding breakfast into a feast for the homeless.
Quinn Duane, 27, was looking forward to her all-planned-out big day, until the man she was supposed to marry called it off.
But with $35,000 in deposits already paid for, and a post-ceremony feast already arranged, her and her family thought it would be a good opportunity to do some good.
“When I found out on Monday that the wedding would not be taking place, it just seemed like, of course, this would be something that we would do to give back,” Duane's mother, Kari, said to KRCA.
As such, the feast for 120 people, which took place at Sacramento’s Citizen Hotel this Saturday, was attended by individuals and families living in sheltered accommodation nearby.
From vibrant salads to gnocchi and roasted salmon, the spread sounds to have been a total treat. Heartwarming stuff.
