Has the celebrity chef found the perfect recipe for chart success? *Sorry*
Jamie Oliver doesn’t half know how to pen a recipe for a slow-roast lamb or steak sandwich, but the chef, cookbook author, school dinner crusader, king of budget meals and owner of restaurants and a TV production empire is about to add another string to that seemingly never-ending bow: songwriter.
That’s right, the Naked Chef has teemed up with Ed Sheeran and Sir Paul McCartney on a song to promote Food Revolution Day, which aims to educate children about food.
The track, which was penned by Oliver and Sheeran, is set to be released in May.
Oliver said on Nova FM: “We laid down the tracks and Ed set me the task of going out and getting the band together so I said to Paul, “Will you lay down bass?” and he said yes!”
And it seems he’s bringing in some music heavyweights to lay down the vocals too.
“In doing this song with Ed, nobody has said no yet. It is pretty amazing.
“Paloma Faith, Jazzie B from Soul II Soul is doing spoken word, Chris Martin is putting some keys down. Ultimately, it comes down to kids and food so I think we can get a great message out there.”
What the song will sound like is anyone’s guess but let’s hope it’s sweet, sweet music.
