The actor honours the man who became an internet sensation after his videos of Gosling refusing to eat cereal went viral
Ryan McHenry, the creator of the “Ryan Gosling won’t eat his cereal” meme, died yesterday after losing his battle with bone cancer aged 27.
The actor has now posted the ultimate tribute: a video of him finally eating his cereal.
Gosling posted a Vine clip of himself pouring a bowl of cereal, pausing briefly to raise his spoon in a silent tribute to McHenry and then eating it.
McHenry created the meme in 2013, which features him offering a spoonful of cereal to video clips of Gosling from various movies. In each clip, the actor is made to look like he is refusing the humble bowl of breakfast goodness.
The videos quickly went viral and Gosling even jokingly tweeted that he actually ‘loves cereal'.
Alongside the video, Gosling sent a tweet out to McHenry’s friends and family.
The Twittersphere was quick to show its approval …
For those who couldn’t get enough of “Ryan Gosling won’t eat his cereal”, a campaign has been launched in Ryan McHenry's name to raise money for Sarcoma UK.
