This is the weirdest take on fusion food we've ever seen

A hospital in Leeds has taken the 'fusion food' concept to strange new extremes. Presenting: the chicken curry and summer fruit crumble mash-up.

A woman receiving treatment for sickle cell anaemia at St James's Hospital was given the odd dish for her dinner while a friend was visiting, reports Mail Online.

At first she wasn't sure what it was due to the strong medication she was on, but once she worked it out she decided there was no way she could eat it – despite being "very hungry". She was offered only a yogurt as a replacement.

Chief nurse of the institution, Clare Linley, has said that it was a mistake and has apologised to the patient in question. The meal "did not meet the hospital's high standards," she added.
