Adam Richman’s giant burger eating days are behind him. Kind of.
We nearly spat out our kale salad when Man v Food’s Adam Richman showed off his slimmed-down physique for Soccer Aid last year.
Now he has dropped another culinary bomb as the presenter – best known for scoffing piles of meat-stuffed sandwiches, chicken wings and the world’s hottest curry – has gone vegan.
Yes, you heard that right.
Talking to the Independent about his new TV show Man Finds Food, Richman said: “I’ve been vegan for the past three months or so, because I’m in training for football right now. And for Soccer Aid I went 100 per cent vegan.”
He added: “Now does that mean I’m not going to have a steak? No, I absolutely will when I want to, but it’s just about picking and choosing my spots, and when I want to have that cow and I wanna have that bacon, I’m going to make it count, I’m going to make it great quality.”
So while it seems his veganism may only be temporary, he admits it has made him reconsider how he consumes meat.
His new show Man Find Food, sees him travel the US in search of gastronomic delicacies (just without the crazy eating challenges bit). So will we no longer be seeing sights like this again?
