This little piggy went to … east London for the latest café concept
Forget about bagging tickets to Wimbledon and booking a week off work, it’s time to clear your diary for the only event that matters this summer.
We’re talking about the London Pignic, a pop-up picnic where you hang out with lots of miniature pigs and, well, pig out.
London has seen an eruption of animal-themed venues in recent years (we’re looking at you Lady Dinah’s Cat Emporium and the owl cocktail bar) and the pint-sized oinkers will be attending the Pignic at Haggerston hangout The Proud Archivist in the run-up to and over the second May bank holiday weekend.
The brainchild of city guide website Yelp and Pet Piggies, one of Britain’s main micro-pig breeders, the event aims to educate us about the realities of ownings pigs – with a bit of petting and good food along the way.
Yelp have said that the event will involve a piggy cocktail masterclass, a pig-themed film and plenty of grub – although we imagine bacon might not be on the menu.
How do you get to see the little critters, we hear you cry?
