If you're a restaurant-loving Midlands native, then today is a good one for you.

A pair of eateries – one in Birmingham, one in Nottingham – have emerged as the only UK winners in the The TripAdvisor 2015 Travelers' Choice Awards for the best fine dining.

So how did they make the cut?

The online review site has an algorithm that works out the top restaurants in the 'fine dining' category that consistently get amazing feedback over the course of the year. Competing against food destinations from the whole world, they've done an impressive job.

Here they are.

Adam's, Birmingham

Coming forth in the list and first in the UK is this Michelin-star sporting hangout dealing in "contemporary British fine dining".

The tasting menus are the thing to have here – with dishes like veal sweetbread with cauliflower and white raisin, and partridge with salsify, hazelnut and pearl barley getting a whole load of love from punters.

Number five on the list is this (very posh) Nottingham restaurant with distinct 'zones' or rooms. Choose from the main dining room, the chef's table or the kitchen bench – depending on how many pennies you're willing to part with.

Dishes like pork jowl with piccalilli and salted apple and chocolate with mandarin, olive oil and salt are designed to take you on a taste journey through from sweet to umami, all in a refined, calm setting.
