It's all about booze in London from 5-11 October here are the best of the events on offer. You're welcome

In its sixth year, London Cocktail Week is the now the biggest drinks festival in the UK. Get yourself a £10 wristband and try some of the most inventive cocktails from around the world, meet some of the best mixers and shakers in the industry and enjoy reduced prices in more than 250 participating bars across the city (find one near you here).

Of course, there are a whole host of events to attend, too. Here are the ones we reckon it'd be a crime to miss:

The London Cocktail Village

For one week only, Old Spitalfields Market will be transformed into the London Cocktail Village with more than 30 pop-up bars, trucks, vans and even bicycles serving cocktails, alongside great street food and funky tunes.

There will be tastings as well as demonstrations and, best of all, it’s free to get in (though you can pick up a wristband here that'll get you reduced prices). Nice one.

The World Class London Cocktail Week Hub

Perfect if you like a little bit of everything in one place, the World Class London Cocktail Week Hub (based in Soho) houses the Tanqueray Art Deco bar (where you can soak up the decadence of the roaring 20s and sip Tanqueray French 75 Martinis), the Ketel One Vodka Kitchen (that lets you experiment with infusions and make your own vodka sodas) and the World Class Bar (with World Class bartenders ready to shake up your favourite tipple). We'll see you in there.

The House of Angostura

Calling all party people: this exclusive pop-up house party overlooks Spitalfields' market and promises live DJ sets, angostura-spiked cocktails and guest bartenders rocking up with signature drinks representing their city. During the day it’s much more chilled out and plays host to cocktail master classes, so make sure you visit even if you’re not into a big bash.

24 Hour Bar Build

One of the most ambitious projects this year, four teams made up of the world’s best bartenders go head-to-head in this cocktail challenge. Each team is asked to devise a menu of four cocktails using every ounce of their creativity and imagination before an expert judging panel sample their wares. The final say will go to us punters though, as each team vies to attract the most sales when the bars open at 6:30pm. Miss it, miss out.

Speed Rack UK National Finals 2015

This all-female speed bar tending competition is heated, racy and incredibly fun to watch. Your ticket includes 10 cocktail tickets, complementary tastings and, of course, a seat to watch the competition itself while all the proceeds go to breast cancer charities.

Art of blending with Chivas Regal

Chivas has been selecting and blending whiskies since 1801 (that’s longer than Jack Daniels by the way) and with the help of a master blender you’ll leave this event with your very own unique whisky. Now where else lets you do that? Make ours a double.

London Cocktail Week Tours

Perhaps the most popular aspect of London Cocktail Week, visit the website here and find a cocktail tour of London in your area. Yes, you'll be sozzled by the end of it but when else can you sip signature cocktails in venues ranging from leafy conservatories to Ping Pong bars and French brasseries? (That's the Farringdon one by the way). Don't try to visit all the bars on the list – that'd be one cocktail too many even by our standards!
